In Actively Learn, sometimes you add pre-created assignments from the catalog or school library that you only want to assign a portion of.
For example, teachers who wants to assign only 5 chapters from The Scarlet Letter can do this by hiding text sections. For Free plan customers, an alternative would be to bulk remove questions on sections you aren't using.
Hiding text sections
Important: This feature is not available for PDFs, paid texts, or assignments that have been marked as a quiz.
STEP 1: From the assignment view, click on the authoring options icon, and select "Hide text sections" from the drop-down menu.
STEP 2: Check the box for the sections you would like to hide, and click "Hide sections"
(In this example, only Chapters 1 - 5 would not be hidden.)
When students access this assignment, they will not see hidden sections displayed in the Table of Content drop-down.
You will not be able to hide sections where students have already completed work. These sections will be grayed out when you click on "Hide text sections"
Removing questions by section
If you're on the free plan, you won't be able to hide sections, but you can bulk remove questions to assist in skipping over sections you won't be focusing on as a class.
STEP 1: Click on the authoring options icon in the menu and select "Remove questions by section".
