Who does this affect? Who will be moving from activelylearn.com to my.mheducation.com?
Beginning June 30, all premium users of Actively Learn will access the platform through McGraw Hill’s digital learning site, my.mheducation.com. This transition will occur in phases. If we have an administrator on file for your district, our team will share specific migration details with them.
If you are an admin at a school or district using premium Actively Learn and you have not received an email, please reach out to rostering@mheducation.com.
Who does this not affect?
This change will not affect users who are already integrated with McGraw Hill systems. It also does not apply to international or U.S. territory customers, or those with free accounts.
What will happen to the ActivelyLearn.com website?
The Actively Learn website will transition to my.mheducation.com. When premium users visit activelylearn.com, they’ll be automatically redirected to the McGraw Hill website. Users will log in through McGraw Hill’s site. Once logged in, users will be able to launch Actively Learn and access the same familiar content and features.
I got an error message when trying to log in. What does it mean?
If you've been migrated to McGraw Hill, and you attempt to log in through the Actively Learn login page (activelylearn.com), you’ll see an error message that says:
“Users will now access Actively Learn through McGraw Hill's platform at my.mheducation.com. You'll be redirected to this site for a seamless experience with the same content and features. For more details, visit our FAQ or contact support.”
This message simply means your account is now accessed through McGraw Hill's platform. To log in, go to my.mheducation.com and use your credentials there. Once logged in, you'll have full access to your Actively Learn content and features — no data lost, just a new access point!
When migrating from Actively Learn to McGraw Hill’s Open Learning, what existing data and customization will be transitioned?
No data is being deleted. All district and school information will stay connected to users as they switch to their new McGraw Hill login. Most users won’t need to take any action to transfer their data. After the current courses conclude in Actively Learn, the next set of user and course data will automatically move to McGraw Hill’s system.
If you notice any issues with your data, please contact us at rostering@mheducation.com for help.
Teachers will still have access to their custom content, whether created at the individual, school, or district level, through their new McGraw Hill login.
Can districts copy their classes over to the new experience via Open Learning?
No, existing classes will not transfer into Open Learning. New classes will need to be created by teachers and/or administrators within the Open Learning platform.
However, rest assured—no data is being deleted. Historical class data will remain accessible through user accounts in Actively Learn.
Will we still be offering a Freemium option for Actively Learn?
Freemium will still be available as an option. There are no changes at this time for Actively Learn Freemium, and Freemium users should not experience any changes during this migration.
How does rostering work on McGraw Hill’s digital learning site?
There are two options for rostering on my.mheducation.com: auto-rostering or manual rostering.
Option 1: Automated Rostering
Auto-rostering automatically creates and updates user accounts, classes, and enrollments through secure data integration. This process works through tools like:
- Clever, ClassLink, or SFTP data files
- Regular syncing from the district’s Student Information System (SIS)
Key Benefits:
- Teachers and admins don’t need to manually enter information.
- Updates, like student transfers or new enrollments, happen automatically.
- Ensures data is accurate and consistent across systems.
Option 2: Manual Rostering
With manual rostering, teachers or admins create and manage user accounts and class rosters directly within the McGraw Hill platform.
Key Features:
- Teachers or admins manually set up classes and add students.
- Any changes must be updated manually in the system.
- No SIS integration or third-party tools are needed.
My district currently manually rosters, how can we get set up with Auto-Rostering?

Will users still be able to purchase eBooks through the Actively Learn platform?
Our engineers are working to ensure this feature remains available as Actively Learn transitions to its new home on McGraw Hill’s site. This is expected to be available for back-to-school 2025.
