If you want to set a specific due date for an assignment or multiple assignments at the same time, you can schedule due dates for the assignments across all classes. Start/Due date periods can be set for certain dates for the entire class, or for individual students. You can also schedule the same due date for the same assignment across all of your classes at the same time with our bulk Start/Due date scheduling feature. Students will not be able to access the assignment at all before the start date. After the due date, students will be able to open and view the assignment, but cannot add notes or respond to questions.
Set due date for an Assignment
STEP 1: Select a class, and then click on the "Assignments" tab.
STEP 2: Go to the "Assignment Actions" section in the class
STEP 3: Select "Set Date" from the menu
STEP 4: Select the assignment(s) you would like to set a due date, then click "Next"
STEP 5: Set your settings, then click "Save"
This will set the start and due date for the assignment for the entire class
Teachers can bulk schedule the same assignment across multiple classes.
Verify Schedule Status
When an assignment is past the due date, a grey calendar icon will appear on the assignment tile. If an assignment is available and open to students, a pink calendar icon will appear on the assignment tile. If the assignment doesn't have a due date, then a normal black calendar icon will be on the assignment. Hovering over the icon displays the dates and times that assignment is open and available to students.
Schedule assignments for individual students
After specifying a start and due date, select “Individual students.” A list of the students in that class will appear. Select the students you would like the scheduling period to apply to, and click "Save."
