Actively Learn can be used to support small groups and individual instruction. Assign to individuals is a great tool for teachers to provide differentiated instruction to their students.
There are two ways to assign content to individual students. The first method of assigning to individuals is during the initial assigning of the assignment, and second option is after the fact in the class view.

Assign to an individual with Google Classroom

STEP 3: Click Assign
Classroom scenarios
- Differentiated assignments - give groups of students the same text with different amounts of scaffolding & assessment
- Small group work - give students different texts
Don't Forget
- If you uncheck a student from the list after the text has been assigned to the class, student work will be hidden. This means in the gradebook, students who have been unassigned the text will have their grade greyed out, and they will no longer see the assignment. You can restore their work and their grades by reassigning the text to them/the whole class.
- If students join the class after a text has been assigned to individuals, you'll need to go and assign the text to them.
- If students have already worked on an assignment, and you then assign it to individual students, you will only be able to grade questions of those you assigned the text individually to.
